Every year there is an amazing festival called Bestival, The brain child of radio 1’s Rob Da Bank, He has constantly created a festival that everyone wants to go to, and when i say everyone, im not talking about your average punter, im also including other artists and performers.

Every year they also have a fancy dress theme, its certainly the biggest fancy dress party i have heard off!! they have had ocean themes in the past and this year the theme is fantastical, its the year of the fantastic fantasy.

as is every year, there will be a prize for the best dressed, and this year that job has fallen to La Roux. She will pick a winner for the best fancy dress of the festival. Im not to sure how she sees them all but im sure she will have fun looking!

Bestival was one of the most popular festivals in 2008 from who i spoke to and what i read, Despite terrible weather i still didn’t hear anything negative about the festival, even when an outdoor stage got closed!

2009 plays host to Bestival 2009 : A Space oditty As you can guess this is a space themed festival. Bestival is run by Rob Da bank who seems to know how to throw a party and i have  previously blogged about his book about festivals!! Bestival is held on the Isle Of White at Robin Hill Countyside Adventure Park. Tickets for the event are priced at £140 for adult weekend tickets with cheaper tickets for children and also camper van tickets available

Bestival Lineup

Bestival in 2009 will be taking place on 11th to the 13th of September. In 2008 it rained really bad if i remember correctly but nether the less everyone had a really good time. Im not sure weather it is a slip in the true sense of the phrase but Friendly Fires have “slipped” that they will be playing bestival this year. The band were recently standing in for Zane Lowe on his radio show on Radio 1.

They announced that they will be playing bestival as well as headlining one of the stages at the Big Chill. This is not the first act to do this, Lilly Alen “slipped” that she was playing Glastonbury this year and orbital announced they were also playing the Big Chill. Excluding Glastonbury i would say that The Big Chill has been on the radar quite a bit this year recently so this could the a festival to keep an eye on.

Friendlies Fire Up Bestival

In five weeks time the MTV music awards will be rolling into Liverpool as part of Liverpool Music Week and the celebration of Liverpool being the capital of culture. As part of this event Bestival will be holding a reunion party in Nation (the home of Cream). Bestival is the festival organised by Rob Da Bank and is held on the isle of white which was a bit of a wash out this year. Bestival will pitch camp on Friday 31st October 2008, The lineup is an array of talent that deserve to be part of the reunion tour after having a great summer in the festival world.

Bestival Reunion 2008

Amy Winehouse (who is still only 24 by the way) Had a first class performance at Glastonbury weekend just gone and im sure she is very proud! She turned up to perform not quite as planned as she arrived 45 minutes late, Not long but if your stood in a muddy rainy fields in high winds then it’s a long time, Maybe she was counting the 48 bottles of Jack Daniels she had had delivered to Bestival!

When Amy finally did get on stage she was Booed for being late and then cut her set short because of it, Reports are saying she was late because she wanted the ground to be dry before she got out of her car!, She was already plastered and fell on her arse during her performance, Once she got back up she then forgot the words to her own songs!, Incidentally she performed songs from her Back to Black album, As though she was going to sing anything else! During her final song “Valeri” she stopped half way through and made the band play Rehab!

Bestival Winehouse

We all knew the rain was going to be bad weekend just gone for Bestival but after 3 hours of torrential rain it was deemed unsafe for the BBC introducing stage to continue so the plug was pulled meaning acts such as Sam Sparrow and Lykke Li could not perform. The downpour had waterlogged the front of the stage to a point it was no longer safe.

Festival Organiser Rob Da Bank said people will moan about the rain but there have been a lot of washed out Glastonbury’s and people get over it and have a good time.

Torrential Bestival – Stage Closed

Bestival organiser Rob Da Bank has revealed that he has got a backup plan in case Amy Crackhouse pulls a no show cause she over excerpt herself hoovering or something.

The singer recently cancelled a gig at last minute in France, Rob has said that there is no suggestion that Amy will not turn up and he has spoken to her manager who is confident she will, however i wouldn’t trust the word of Amy Winehouse either so there is a backup plan which he says will be just as good, Personally i think i would rather see the backup plan!!

Bestival Backup Plan

Amy Winehouse has announcedthat her gig at bestival will be her last for the foreseable future. The singer is said to be focusing on her next album in the studio.

I think this is a wise move by Amy as she has completely exhausted her last album and she couldnt continue with the same material for any longer, i personally think she has been using it for far to loang anyway.

Lets hope that during her break she sorts herself out a little bit as she looked frail and weak on the stage dispite Edith Bowman on TV saying how well she looked.. Err no she didnt Edith how can you even suggest she does! Ill leave you a picture for proof!

Last Gig For Amy

I have spoken about bestival but  on the 18-20 July its the turn of Camp bestival which takes place at Lulworth Castle, Dorset. Camp bestival is aimed at a more family orientated festival with under 12 getting in for free.

Tickets are now available priced at £120 for adults and £60 for children for the weekend, As i said under 12 for free.

Camp Bestival Is Approaching

Mermaids, seahorses and squids!

no i havent got a marine version of torrets its the fancy dress you are likely to see for this years Bestival festival on the isle of man! The organisers have set a theme of “30,000 freaks under the sea”

It sound random and odd and thats why i like it! if your going to have a fancy dress theme then dont keep having the same as eveyone else, you wouldnt find me going to a festival dresses as a squid but if you are heading to bestival then im sure you have been before and know how much of a great time you will have joining in!
