Glastonbury has always played and supported a large amount of musical genres and artists.

The new stage is the Bourbon Street Jazz n Blues stage. I cant say its a genera that i have ever heard off but i had been lucky enough to get a ticket, i would be checking this place out!! Again, the line-up is nobody i know but its all about hearing new things. Bourbon Street Jazz n Blues sounds like a stage with lots of old people playing trumpets! I’m going to do a bit of digging on You Tube today to educate myself!!

A couple of years ago, the organisers set up Jay-Z to headline Glastonbury, this was much to the dis belief of Noel Gallagher who openly voiced his feelings about having a rap star headlining Glastonbury.

It has been revealed that Oasis were then offered to Headline the year after but snubbed Glastonbury to play two dates at the V festival, the second of these dates were cancelled because the band fell out.

Michael Eavis has said that if they reformed, they would never play at Glastonbury in the future, they should have took up his offer in the first place.

In 2010 there doesn’t seem to have been as much hype surrounding the festival, if there has been, it has passed me by.

In more recent years there seems to have been a more pop edge to the festival creeping in and 2010 is no different, Shikera will be playing Glastonbury, don’t get me wrong, im sure she is a good performer, however if i go to a festival i don’t really want to listen to the people i hear on the radio all day at work! Thats the beauty of large festivals though, if i don’t want to listen to Shikera then that is more than ok because there is so much more going on.

Last year if i remember correctly Madonna was an early name being thrown around and there seemed to be a long list of bands wanting to headline the festival including Take That if the gossip is to be believed.

This year however it is the Rolling Stones that are the favourites to headline the closing set on the Sunday. Sundays if the day when traditionally they have older acts to close the festival with likes of Bruce Springsteen and Rolf Harris taking part last year.

According to Digital Spy, U2 and Prince also have short odds to perform at the festival. I think Prince would be something special for the 40th anniversary which i they will be pulling something out of the bag for. If they stick with the more modern bands such as Coldplay etc i think they are in major danger of having a festival the same as they always have.

Tickets went on sale at 9am yesterday morning and now if you check our the website there is a polite little message stating that the tickets have now sold out. It took only 12 hours to sell all the tickets this year which i am surprised about

Glastonbury 2010 has not released any of the line-up yet and i don’t think they will until well into next year. 2010 is the 40th anniversary for Glastonbury which one of the reasons could be for it selling out in record time, Other reasons could be ‘the financial market’ but i don’t really buy into that as ticket sales started to slide before all this erupted with tickets not even selling out two years ago.

I think personally the deposit scheme could be one of the reasons for the increase in first day applications, our Glastonbury reporter this year has decided to take the deposit option and this year i think this option has opened the festival up for more people.

Anyway whatever the reason its sold out. If you still want tickets then a few may become available over the coming weeks as people who have already applied fall out or the payments are refused.

Keep your eyes peeled for more news and any chances of tickets.

The weather has been forcast to be nice but im sure everybody going will have their emergency wellies because after all, this is England!! The official lineups dont actually have any info on what is happening tonight and tomorrow, however a source that we have sent to the festival this year assures me that there are live bands on tonight and tomorrow though only on a small scale.

As always the BBC have got extensive coverage, They have the full lineups as well as audio and video’s from the event that will be updated through the course of the weekend, at the moment the BBC coverage will not start until Friday however once it does start it will be covered on Radio 6 Radio 4 and BBC 3 TV.

Problem is that some of the graffiti was painted on by Banksy the famous street artist who’s work is admired by the likes of Brad Pitt and is valued in the 1000’s.

The image was of Paddington Bear and is the second painting by Banksy that has been removed when cleaning the streets! The person who owned the wall it was painted on is said to be looking at their insurenace to see if they were covered and they have also been told they can make a claim against the Councill as the drawing was valued at £5000 and the owner of the wall already had a buyer who wanted to buy the painting!

In the past many people have done duets at Glastonbury and some of them have been very successful; Last year Hot chip were involved in a great duet (i cant remember who with!!) but the great duets of Glastonbury are always the un announced ones, I don’t think that a planned duet will be as good because it wont be raw and un rehearsed

Also billed as playing on the main stage will be Dizzee Rascal! The UK rapper will no doubt put on a great show but with his latest track being described as a dance track with rapping on it is it the best choice of a main stage artist? After last year i will reserve judgement of popularity till after the set has finished.
