As winter approaches there are not too many festivals really to shout about coming up in the near future. However, if you were thinking that the music industry is on a break at the moment, think again, as this is the time when tickets for the biggest summer gigs go on sale.

Glastonbury 2011 tickets may have now gone but there are many festivals and huge outdoor music events to look forward to next year. Tickets are being released all the time – and though we’ll ignore the Take That phenomenon – indie and rock music fans will be glad to hear that Bon Jovi tickets went on sale this week for Manchester, Edinburgh and London, while the Foo Fighters are doing a show in Milton Keynes in July with the tickets released this coming Friday.

Blake Fielder-Civil has come out and told how he Ruined something beautiful when he got together with Amy winehouse, Speaking in an interview from rehab he said how he was the person who introduced Amy to drugs. He took crack in front of her and when she asked top try some he gave it to her. He has managed to turn Amy from a beautiful woman just out of her teens to a haggled woman who looks like 30 years older than she should.

Blake has said how he is riddled with guilt and how he has filed for divorce out of his love for Amy and so she can go and save her life, something he doesnt seem to think she can do with him, and no doubt the feeling is mutual throughout the land.

I feel that there is something more going on here though, these are purely my thoughts but it seems a little suspect to me that someone who looks like he is out for anything he can get would just walk away from his millionaire wife out of love for her. I smell a rat, and it smells like its just had a pay day to walk away!

I Ruined Amy’s Civil Life

In an underground car park in Manchester there is a big party every Friday and Saturday for 12 weeks of the year and its called the Warehouse Project. It throws parties and the music has a great range and appeals to all corners of dance music.

This Saturday (29th November) They have revealed that the very special guest joining Errol Alkan will be non other than Franz Ferdinand! Now Errol plays a kind of Electra style of music but Franz Ferdinand will be doing a full live set at 9pm.  Franz Ferdinand have for a while had some of their records cross over into the dance music scene so I’m not to surprised that this has come about. 

Tickets for this night have been sold out for a long time as with all the nights at the warehouse project, if you wait for the full lineup to be revealed then its to late.

The Franz Ferdinand Project

No don’t worry they haven’t got married! Its been a while since i spoke about the delight able Amy Winehouse so i thought why not!! 

For some reason Mark Ronson has come out and said that he any Amy Winehouse have not fallen out about the bond theme falling through! That’s great Mark, we didn’t hear that you had!!!

Earlier this year the rumour mill was reporting that Amy Winehouse and Mark Ronson would be making the theme tune for the new bond film. This is something that fell through due to Amy “not being ready to make music”. That will be because she was to busy milking her 2 year old album for everything its worth.

If it was me i would have been well and truly p****d off with her! I doubt the offer of a bond theme tune comes very often and it would well and truly been a feather in his cap!

At the moment Ronson is in Australia on tour with Global Gathering which is hitting Oz at the moment with Kraftwerk. I’m glad he took time out to tell us his great news!

Jay-Z The guy who “Took Glastonbury by storm” is set to support Coldplay on 3 dates next year, The rapper will be performing in Manchester, Glasgow and Wembley. Coldplay have recently edited a video they have to promote the events so that Jay-Z appears on them rapping.

The lead singer of Coldplay defended the Jay this summer and his appearance at Glastonbury saying he is simply the best rapper in the world (don’t let Kanye hear that!!)

Fact of the matter is, and at risk of repeating myself, If you don’t like Rap you don’t like it, Forcing it down your throat does not mean you will all of a sudden like it!!

Jay-Z Support Coldplay

A lot has been said about over the last couple of years regarding Myspace and the impact it can have on making a career or future for a band or artist. The second medium would be YouTube. If i was going to give examples (which i am) then Lilly Allen got massive exposure on Myspace when her career first took of, I wouldn’t go as far as to say myspace made her because she does have talent as well as a famous father (who has been involved with having a chart hit! Remember Vindaloo?), but it helped, aslo YouTube has made people famous. Again it may not be completely down to YouTube but do a search for BeardyMan. he is a human beat-box that now does the festival circuit. But what if you want to make it like these people? Well you would have to have a remarkable talent to be picked up on any of these websites now. They have been completely saturated with people selling themselves through the net and lets face it if you sit and wait for a chance to come to you then its never going to happen for 99% of people.

That means its back to the old school (ish) for everyone wanting to make a break. With the situation of the music industry and people downloading music illegally and legally the emphasis on tours and live acts. Its not just about how you sound its also about how you perform, do you have a style that can catch an eye? Ive spoken to a few people recently at gigs and festivals and it seems the latest trend is not to record a cd and send it out but to record a DVD and send it out. One guy i spoke to on a campsite was really into this in a big way, He had already filmed his gig with the help from his universities media department and he was sourcing a website for DVD Duplication so he could send out all these dvds on mass, he seemed really energetic that this could be the way forward which might not have been looked at by people in the past. Id say good luck to him and i hope it works, To get seen you constantly need to be thinking outside the box and the more professional you look with a first impression in turn may give you a better chance!

Spreading The Love

A celebrity packed crowd heard Oasis close the BBC electric proms last night from London. Liam and Noel had the help from a 50 piece choir as the band sang a mix of classic and new songs including Wonderwall and don’t look back in anger. (how could they not sing them!!)

Noel and Liam in jubilant moods joked with some of the celebs in the crowd including Daniel Craig, who Noel tapped up for the next bond theme tune and Russell Brand who he dedicated a fall on stage to!

Many people (non celebs) who attended the performance have all hailed it as the best performance Oasis have ever done. People had travelled from all over the country to see this performance and nobody went away disappointed. From all accounts this gig could be one of the best of the careers

Oasis Electric Proms

In five weeks time the MTV music awards will be rolling into Liverpool as part of Liverpool Music Week and the celebration of Liverpool being the capital of culture. As part of this event Bestival will be holding a reunion party in Nation (the home of Cream). Bestival is the festival organised by Rob Da Bank and is held on the isle of white which was a bit of a wash out this year. Bestival will pitch camp on Friday 31st October 2008, The lineup is an array of talent that deserve to be part of the reunion tour after having a great summer in the festival world.

Bestival Reunion 2008

Cream, the organisers behind Creamfields Turn 16 this year, this makes them one of the longest lasting Club brands that have been around, The early days of dance music were dominated by the likes of the Hecienda who had people such as Madonna and Blur performing there, Cream opened in 1992 which means it was open for 5 years along side the ledgendary Manchester club yet Cream has shown it can stand the test of time and a changing market. Unlike the clubs of old (Hacienda got closed down in a blaze of Drugs and shootings), Cream has had to become a brand to survive, You cant pop to liverpool and spend a night there any more unless its a special event because  in the early 2000’s some clubs took a knock with cream being one of them. They now focus on music sales, their Bar Baby Cream in the liverpool docks and there mega successfull night Cream in Ibiza, and of corse Creamfields all over the world.

To Celebrate another year on the Cream bandwagon cream are throwing a bash at their home; Nation in liverpool on Saturday 11th October 2008:

Happy Birthday Cream

Today i saw a truly startling picture that we have all seen before but it just took it one step beyond comprehension. Its my favourite piece of cannon fodder this summer, yes it is Amy Winehouse! She has been in the papers again recently after she managed to miss her 25th birthday party. She was out the night before Dj’ing in her local which she was late for. Anyway the picture below was taken the night before her birthday so you can imagine why she didn’t turn up for her own!

Because it shows the drastic changes her constant abuse to herself has caused i have got a picture of her in 2004 to compare.

If there are any small children reading this then i suggest you look away from the screen before you get a fright!
