Its only a couple of weeks away, on the  22nd and 23rd of May Radio 1 big weekend will be in Bangor in Wales. I didn’t get a ticket for the Saturday like i applied for but i didn’t really expect to.

Last years event was covered extensively on line and on TV and produced some really good moments including an acoustic performance by Kelly Rowland of When Love Takes Over

In 2010, im sure they will try and improve on last year, The line-up they have released looks really good, I applied for the Saturday and think this was the best day to attend, however sunday will be equally as good, Ill be following it all which ever way i can, i also hope that Radio 1 use their You Tube channel to show the video’s of the event as a lot of the video’s have now been taken down.

Radio 1 Big Weekend 2010

One Big Weekend moves around every year and every year the preference on tickets goes to the people who live in the local and surrounding areas. In 2009 this is no different, There will be 40,000 tickets made available across the two days. Traditionally One Big Weekend is one of the major radio one events of the year. In 2008 this event took up a lot of air time promoting it in advance and when it actually happened it was also broadcast online and on BBC3, I expect this year will be the same but hopefully with some more live coverage of the event on the TV!

They have not released a full lineup as of yet but im sure they will be doing soon, So far they have revealed that N-Dubz and Snow patroll will be performing.

Im sure they must have something up their sleeve as last year they had Madonna and im not sure they are going to be able to top that very easily!

One Big Weekend 2009

As they do every year at one big weekend there will be a Radio 1 afterparty, this after party will be held at Studio 5, Maidstone TV Studios that has never been used for a dance event before. The night will run from 10pm till 6am so bring your dancing shoes and some staminer! The lineup is a pretty special one here is the lineup.

One Big Weekend – Lineup

Ticket applications for this year’s Radio 1’s one big weekend have now opened! This year One Big Weekend will be in Maidstone in Kent. There are 30,000 tickets available for the event and people have until next Monday the 28th April to register. When you register you have to choose whether you want to go on the Saturday or the Sunday. If you want to go to both days then you have to enter the Golden Ticket competition (which you are entered into anyway) and if you win a golden ticket then this will give you access to the event on both days.

People who live in Maidstone will have a priority on the tickets though some tickets have been kept for people in the rest of the country.
