The Big chill is another one of those festivals that generally goes under the radar, In recent years it has started to be more recognised and spoken about. Ive always known about and heard of The Big Chill but ive never been or really paid much notice.  This year the festival has a really good lineup! Basement Jaxx an Orbital would be enough to get me there regardless of who else was playing, The only raised eye brow about this lineup is ‘Alphabeat (Dj Set) im not 100% sure if its the cheesy Alphabeat but im sure it would be good for a laugh even if it was.

The Big Chill 2009 – Lineup

Bestival in 2009 will be taking place on 11th to the 13th of September. In 2008 it rained really bad if i remember correctly but nether the less everyone had a really good time. Im not sure weather it is a slip in the true sense of the phrase but Friendly Fires have “slipped” that they will be playing bestival this year. The band were recently standing in for Zane Lowe on his radio show on Radio 1.

They announced that they will be playing bestival as well as headlining one of the stages at the Big Chill. This is not the first act to do this, Lilly Alen “slipped” that she was playing Glastonbury this year and orbital announced they were also playing the Big Chill. Excluding Glastonbury i would say that The Big Chill has been on the radar quite a bit this year recently so this could the a festival to keep an eye on.

Friendlies Fire Up Bestival

Orbital have announced on their blog that they will be performing at this years Global Gathering on long marsden airfield on the 24th and 25th July.

The brothers that formed Orbital back in 1989 said it was the comeback of other groups such as pendulum and the Klaxons that made them think about re grouping. Along with Global Gathering Orbital will be performing at The Big Chill and Rockness in 2009.

After their festival appearences in 2009 they have also aranged a two day tour that will see them performing at the Manchester Accademy on September 19 and Brixton accademy in london on the 25th of September

The Big Chill – Lineup

Want a popular festival but dont want to have to listen to music 24 7 for days on end? Well maybe the big chill is for you. The festival takes place 1st – 3rd August 2008. The Big Chill is held at Eastnor Castle Deer Park in Herefordshire.
