Festival of Olympic Proportions
Officials have announced that after the Olympic games have finished in 2012 they want to organise and plan a range of festivals and art exhibitions on the site so it doesnt become a ghost town. Once the Olympics has finished the site will then take 4 years to convert so the facilities will be used by the public and so that apartments can be built.
In this time they want to utilise the area with one of the suggestions being a Festival. They are expecting to get an entertainments licence so this can go ahead and officials will be speaking to festival organisers about what can be put on.
I personally think it all sounds a little to clean to me. The organisers mentioned a “Glastonbury-like festival” but i cant see that happening, yes the transport links would be great, most people would arrive and leave on the tube links but do you want to go to a festival on the tube? personally i want traffic jams, mud and dirty toilets!
