Glastonbury 2009 – Tickets and Lineup
As i have already posted Tickets for Glastonbury are now on sale, You can reserve your tickets for a £50 deposit to pay the full amount at a later date. On the first day half of the tickets for 2009 were sold, the remainder of the tickets will be available from June. Michael Eavis spoke of his delight that half the tickets went and that it shows the diversity of 2008 was a success. Glastonbury 2008 saw the most diverse crowd of people in a decade, This is great news for the people making the money though i expect the hardcore Glastonbury fans would prefer it not to be so diverse to the point the crowd changes.
One thing i could say about this is that a great festival is one where everyone seems to be on the same playing field, You can to some extent connect with the people around you because you are all there because you love the same thing, if i festival diversified to much then that connection is lost at with that goes the atmosphere.
In another move to generate much needed buzz about the festival they plan to release the lineup for the festival 6 months before it happens which would make the announcement around January time.
