The main act has been confirmed for Glastonbury 2009, Last year saw Jay-Z rip up the rule book on who should be playing the coveted spot at the festival, The main spot is the closing set on the main stage on the Saturday night.

In 209 this spot will be taken by……. Bruce Springsteen!!!!

Bruce will play Glastonbury for the first time at the age of 59! The organiser of the festival said he was thrilled that he had agreed to come over and play the festival. “Bruce is an all time rock legend”

I applaud Glastonbury for yet again thinking outside the box and not following the norm, 90% of the festivals this year will have an almost identical lineup and the headlining sets probably wont be much different. Glastonbury forces people to see it different and just like least year this might cause a bit of stir, do the young people of today want the highlight of their weekend to be the highlight of the past, will they see a rock legend or will they see a 59 year old bloke singing familiar songs. I expect the first and my decision is out at the moment but i still say congratulations and keep it up for not organising an every day headliner.
