Jay-Z? No Chance

Noel Gallagher has spoken out against Jay-Z headlining Glastonbury 2008. The Oasis frontman has said if you start breaking things that ain’t broke then people will stop going, and I think he is right. The festival organisers made a change that wasn’t needed, Glastonbury was flying with the only grumbles I’d hear of being the prices in the event rising.

Now they have introduced a Hip Hop artist into the equation and instantly tickets have not sold out instantly for the first time in 6 years. Glastonbury is supposed to be open to music, which it is, but it has it’s roots as Noel pointed out “Glastonbury has a tradition of guitar music and even when they throw the odd curve ball in on a Sunday night you go ‘Kylie Minogue’?”

I’ll leave you with my favourite quote from Noel from that same interview

“I’m not having hip hop at Glastonbury”
