Madonna For Glastonbury 2009?
A few websites have started to report that Madonna would like to play Glastonbury in 2009. With her last single not showing on most peoples radars and her divorce from Guy she thinks that her popularity has flagged in the UK so she needs to boost it. Glastonbury would be one of a few carefully selected dates she would do in the UK to boost her popularity.
If you remember she went down a storm at radio 1’s big weekend though she turned a few heads with the way she performed and the fact she started swearing at loads of children asking if they were stoned!
The websites and news papers also point out that she has only just finished her world tour and she hasn’t got any new material to perform with. I say go for it, Amy Winehouse and Mark Ronson have milked the same album for years now and anyway, if Madonna performed at Glastonbury im sure everyone would want a set of crowd pleasers they have all heard before and not a load of music that they haven’t heard that will probably be crap!
Finally, Who he hell is she to walk over and say “I think ill play Glastonbury”. She dosent tell us she will play the festival, the organisers invite her to play and purley because i have blown this slight suggestion that she has probably not even spoken about way out the window i think the Glastonbury organisers should make sure she is NOT invited to play!
