It was only a couple of days ago when i was writing about the standard camping tickets selling out and saying that there is a warning on the VIP tickets that they are selling well. The time has come already that all the VIP tickets have now sold out for the event. The organisers have put a warning in place that they expect all tickets to be sold by next Wednesday, that’s one week today.
This news really excites me as it has been a long time since Creamfields actually sold out in advance. The festival selling out is a big issue as when Creamfields started it was the king of the festivals, then after around 2002 / 2003 i personally feel the excitement had gone a little, the hype surrounding the festival wasn’t as great, when ever you spoke to people they always changed the subject to Global Gathering. This year though it is different, the lineup is one of the strongest for a long time, ticket sales are showing the popularity is back and i feel there is a genuine fresh excitement for Creamfields 2009 that there hasn’t been for a long time (i have been to almost all the previous creamfields).
If you want a ticket now you will have to get single day tickets, as we mentioned they are now selling fast so don’t wait around. If you go to the dark side and buy tickets of eBay it IS NOT RECOMMENDED but if you do be careful, there going for a pretty penny on there now so you don’t want to be had.
Its not long to go now till Creamfields and the Standard camping tickets have now sold out. If you haven’t already got tickets and you want to camp at the festival then the only way to do it is to purchase VIP camping for the event which the organisers also say are selling out fast.
I noticed this weekend that the ’special offer’ price of £100 have had the ’spacial offer’ banner removed but the ticket price stayed at £100 for the standard weekend camping. I initially thought this was a sign the tickets may not be selling to quickly however i am happy to hear it has sold out as it shows the demand is still there for what i think is the best festival of the year.
Tickets are still available for the individual days and weekend tickets are still available for people who don’t want to camp over at the event.
Because the tickets have sold out and there will still be people wanting to stay at the event people are being warned over fake tickets for the event, If you but your tickets second hand or from an unauthorised retailer then you will have no guarantees that you will gain entry and you definitely wont get your money back!
If you are like me and you already have your ticket then sit back and relax!
I quite often chat about the music festivals on this website but from time to time a read things associated with the industry and like to blog about it, Its because of this that i am adding a new category to the site so that posts much like this one have somewhere to go.
The Radio 1 essential mix is legendary, Being able to feature in an essential mix must be a great honor for a Dj. This year the essential mix will be live from Creamfields, im not sure if it is to be recorded to be broadcast or broadcast live, i would hope it was broadcast live.

Creamfields is taking place at the end of August and like many of the other festivals they have a VIP area. I personally have stayed VIP at another popular festival and i found that the extras were worth the extra money. At creamfields this year they seem to have a few little extras that really makes me want to go VIP, unfortunately its a little out of my grasp next month.
Anyway!! One of the most common questions i face is; ‘what is the difference between VIP and normal camping?’ well let me tell you. For starters the availability of showers! because VIP campers get their own campsite which is not connected to the regular campsites then the showers that are available are only being shared between the select few VIP campers.
VIP tent, not always the most happening place in my experience however creamfields in 2009 have a cream logo shaped tent which has been split into 3 areas, The first area is the dance area which yet again will be hosted by Hed Kandi, they have also introduced a lounge area which i predict will be popular this year!! The lounge area will have furniture and is built for chilling out and relaxation. The final area is the area that will definitely be busy, for the VIP’s they will be laying on a free buffet which will be provided by pushka.
Finally you get the usual VIP treatment, which includs luxury toilets a cocktail bar and plenty of heating and seating areas as well as your own car park and fast track entry to the festival.
Rumours have started to circulate that Creamfields 2009 has been cancelled which has today prompted an announcement on the Creamfields Twitter page that the festival has NOT been cancelled like people have been saying.
Personally i am following Creamfields as a search term on twitter and up until the announcement was made by @Creamfields i had not heard anything about this.
it seesm the roumour has originated on uk-clubbing-directory.co.uk says there has been an outbreak of Foot and Mouth on a farm in Surrey and this could threaten creamfields going ahead as the fields are used for cattle. What the people who have been spreading this havent realised was that the thread was from 2007!!!!
Even if it was current; Creamfields is a long way from Surrey and as the country has had a foot and mouth crisis in the past im 100% posative that if it has been detected the measures are in place and lessons have been learnt in the past to contain it.
Global Gathering is one day away and as per usual they have released a weather forcat podcat!! Mr Fish last year did a podcast in a I Love Techno podcast T-shirt which then was one of the GG merchandise T-shirts. This year The fish is back and he has a new T-Shirt!!
Global Gathering kicks of tomorrow night for all the people wanting to camp with Saturday being open to the general public as well. Last year my personal preference was that the Friday was much better, the atmosphere was much better and there were a lot less idiots walking round the event!
If you wanted to know what Wakestock 2009 was “saying”,….. It was saying a lot!
I did attend this weekend of cavorting and snorting. Needless to say it was (catch phrase of the weekend) “big time”. Acts such as N.E.R.D., Goldie Chase & Status featured on the Saturday night, to which I was present.
The place to be on the best evening of the event had to be the Relentless tent. So named after the energy drink, without a sense of irony as the bass was actually relentless.
Having released their debut album earlier last year Chase & Status had to be the best act of the evening, and by the sounds of the hardcore Wakestock crowd, the best act of the weekend!
Starting out their set with their premier album song “I can’t get enough” remixed with just bass, precipitated the crowd going into a bouncing frenzy. Someone was crushed. Silver lining being whoever it was continued to party on the floor, in the hope that this new style of dance would catch on. It certainly did not. They finished their set with Pieces as per usual.
This is the third time I’ve seen them live, Warehouse Project, Manchester and Chibuku, Liverpool, they are only getting better. Oh my.
In summation, Relentless is the most happening place in Abersoch.
Our roaming eye has recently been to Glastonbury and amongst the many bands they happened to come across a band called Vest Shirt. Vest Shirt are a trio from Dagenham, they wasn’t on the lineup for Glastonbury but they were distributing a few sample CD’s round the tents close to were they were pitched, the ultimate aim was to try and get somebody to listen to them that was in a position of authority or someone that knew someone in authority,
Vest Shirt promote them selfs as a new age, indie, electro metro pop fusion male harmony choir. The CD’s never got listened to in the campsite, everyone had a competition to see how far they could throw them!
The point of this blog? funny things happen at Glastonbury!
Glastonbury 2009 will kick off today for 5 days of live music and acts in the middle of the english countyrside! The weather has been forcast to be nice but im sure everybody going will have their emergency wellies because after all, this is England!! The official lineups dont actually have any info on what is happening tonight and tomorrow, however a source that we have sent to the festival this year assures me that there are live bands on tonight and tomorrow though only on a small scale.
As always the BBC have got extensive coverage, They have the full lineups as well as audio and video’s from the event that will be updated through the course of the weekend, at the moment the BBC coverage will not start until Friday however once it does start it will be covered on Radio 6 Radio 4 and BBC 3 TV.
